About Boracay

Boracay is a jewel of an island in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It is world-famous for its eight-kilometer stretch of powdery-white sand called White Beach.

Boracay is also famous for its consistent northeast monsoon which blows from late November to mid-April ranging from 15 to 30 knots. The prime sailing spot is Bulabog Beach, a flatwater speed area where a reef about 250 meters offshore keeps the waves out but the wind in. Half the spot is for flatwater rocketing, and the other half for rolling bump and jump.

Bulabog Beach and Green Yard Funboard Center have also been hosting the Boracay International Funboard Cup since 1988. The event is one of the largest windsurfing races in Asia and attracts over a hundred windsurfers and kiters to Boracay year after year.
